Bernie's Report - February 02, 2003

I spent the afternoon in the White Pass. Conditions were firm but fun to ski. Other area were scraped to the hard pack and what I would describe as icy. (Those who are used to skiing these conditions might not be as critical.) Areas that had not been skied as much were rutted and crusty. They probably will improve over the next couple of days when they get more traffic.

We skied out in Currie Bowl. Although most of 1-2-3 was bumped up, the snow was generally soft and I enjoyed the run down to Trespass Trail. Below Trespass trail things got ugly! Extremely hard packed with patches of grey ice interspersed with twigs and the occasional bare rock. There is a chance of flurries in the forecast... we need them!
