April 12, 2002Craig's FAR Update 2002/4/12:
Tick - Tock
The clock is counting down and there are now only two days left to what has been a pretty good season. Unfortunately it has had a sort of dismal final week with lots of rain, gray skies and closures. The rain has translated into snow up top, but pretty heavy stuff and today's variety at least didn't really encourage a lot of off trail exploration. The groomed stuff was pretty good though in its sloppy spring way.
Tomorrow brings the Powder, Peddle, Paddle race and I am told that this year the skiing portion will start at the top of White Pass and head all the way down Falling Star. There is quite a bit of snow along side the roads and river this year and while that probably doesn't actually make the river colder, it sure looks chilly. Hopefully the sun will manage to put in an appearance tomorrow for benefit of both the competitors and spectators.
