Craig's Report - January 2, 1998

Just a quick update of yesterday's report.  It was still above freezing when I went to bed sometime after 1:00 AM this morning, but by the time I got up it had finally dropped to about -14C here at the house.  Unfortunately most of the moisture associated with the cold front appears to have arrived as rain.   It is snowing lightly now and there is a skiff of new down here, but not nearly enough yet to make up for the ravages of last week.  I thought they might have had a bunch up top, but the trees look pretty green and the hill is only reporting 6 cm in the last 24 hours.  Skiing may be okay on the Bear, but the bottom will be horrible and I have other things to do.

We have friends with kids visiting us this weekend, so unless things improve significantly I probably won't get out on the slopes again until next week.
