Craig's Report - March 28, 1997 - 2:30 PM

A Good Friday Indeed!

Once again proving that you never know what tomorrow brings in Fernie, winter staged an overnight come back last night. There was new boot deep snow everywhere and while it was a little heavy down low, on the upper mountain it was genuine powder. You could still feel the hard stuff underneath and could encounter the odd icy turn if you hit a spot scraped by a previous skier, but generally it was very nice and the snow was falling so fast that it was staying nice. Things were closing as the day progressed with Face, Snake, upper Cedar and all of Easter subcumbing before I left the top.

I spent the last hour or so 'family' skiing on the lower mountain and by the time I left at 1:00 PM the snow was getting pretty heavy and sticky down there although still fun. It is currently 2 C but still snowing lightly at the house. The top of the mountain is socked in and I suspect they are still getting significant snow up there.
